For a second year running, the UK’s leading fundraising platform, JustGiving, is joining forces with online learning community, Fundraising Everywhere, to help fundraising professionals upskill digitally.
This year, JustGiving’s Digital Learning Grant will now provide funding for 200 charity professionals which will give them access Fundraising Everywhere’s online training programme which aims to help participants develop their digital skills and achieve their fundraising goals sooner.
According to the Charity Digital Skills Report 2024, seven out of 10 charities are struggling to progress digitally*.
However, previous participants of the online training programme reported a significant increase in digital skills, fundraising strategy skills by 90.7%, email marketing skills by 44.4% and social media skills by 35.6%.
One of last year’s participants, Allie Mills, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Place2Be, said: “I decided to apply to the course because it seemed like such a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills that are so important in today’s digital landscape.
“The course has had significant impact on my work and in particular in helping me transition into a new position.”
Launched on September 25, the Digital Learning Grant aims to give fundraisers and charity professionals the confidence and skills they need to raise money in an everchanging digital world.
The programme provides access to over seven hundred hours of digital online training, four hundred webinars, an opportunity to network and a chance to get one to one support on digital fundraising projects.
Mills continued: “I think it’s really crucial for charities and fundraisers to keep up with digital and technological changes, there is so much out there but unfortunately many charities are falling behind.
“The use of AI in particular is a sort of an untouched resource in the sector that has the potential to make processes way more efficient.
“Whether it’s through automated tasks, improving donor engagements or helping teams with creative solutions, by keeping up with these developments and embracing these new technologies charities could work smarter, stretch their resources further and ultimately increase their positive impact in the world.”
Fundraisers and charity professionals across the world will have until 5pm on October 15 to apply for a position on the course and successful applicants will receive a response by November 15 with the course kicking off on January 7.
Pascale Harvie, President and General Manager at JustGiving said: “We’re so pleased to be funding a second year of the Digital Learning Grant, giving 200 fundraisers and charity professionals the opportunity to upskill digitally with a fantastic training programme created by Fundraising Everywhere.
“This course has had such an amazing impact on those who have taken part and we’re so proud to be offering hundreds of people the opportunity to embark on a journey of upskilling digitally and successful fundraising.”
Nikki Bell, Co-Founder of Fundraising Everywhere, said: “The aim of it is to increase digital skills and confidence for fundraisers. We do all of the training online. We’ve got this amazing cohort that comes through that support each other, and there have been some fantastic opportunities for people in that cohort to then go off and share what they’ve learned with their team or even in magazine articles or at events!”
